Fall Mantel

Good morning everyone! I hope you are having a good week. It has been kinda a rainy week here. It's been nice though. I woke up this morning to rain drops on the window.
The rain is so peaceful sometimes. It absolutely feels like fall!
Last week I pulled my fall decorations out of the closet and gussied up the living room a little bit.

This is the coffee table center piece. The round wooden object is an old seed shaker. The bottom is wire mesh. The Fabric pumpkin I made last year. I have several that I have made over the last few years and I love them!

This is the mantel. A large mirror in the back goes with a dresser that you will see. The wooden frame on the left I found at a barn sell it is empty but kind of looks like a mirror as well. The large W was a birthday present from my brother and SIL. The harvest time bunting I made last year out of burlap and jute. I just stenciled the letters on.

This is on the dining table. Two ironstone platters stacked with pine cones and a candle. Those are beans surrounding the candle, which by the way is mulled cider from Gold Canyon and smells delish!!!
I should have lit the candle it would hav emade a better picture.

This is the dresser I mentioned. It is full of fabric! And it makes a great place to display things.

The barn picture came from a garage sell this summer and here are some more fabric pumpkins!

Books I had and a church hymnal.

I love this little train depot. Its from the 1930's.

I made the wreath with burlap that I had. I wrapped it once tight and then went back around it loosely and twisted at the same time and hot glued as I went.

I used some of the old flatware that I have and made a rosette.

I was happy with how it turned out!

There is your peak around the house. I wish everyone a fabulous weekend and a fabulous Autumn!!

Surprise Party!!

Last time I talked about the Country Living Fair, well that was a full day and we didn't get home until 6pm.
When we got close to the driveway I noticed a lot of cars in my yard. I was trying to figure out what was going when I noticed that I was the only one who didn't know what was going on!

It turned out to be a Surprise Party for me!!! I turn 30 on the 30th and my Love wanted to throw me a party!! The month of September is so busy this was the only day that it would have worked.
It was a great surprise! I had no idea. If it had been closer to my birthday I would have been more suspicious!
I have such a thoughtful husband!
I am enjoying the last few days of my twenties!

Country Living Fair

I know I am a little behind on posting. I went to the country living fair over a week ago.
We had a wonderful time!! I didn't take very many pictures because I was busy shopping!!
I actually did more looking than I did shopping.

Cari was there from the HGTV show Cash and Cari!
I didn't get to meet her but her booth had some really cool things!
There was so much stuff, you just had to stand and take it in.

Cari took two cast Iron tubs and made them into a couch and chairs!! Who would of thought...

My favorite thing about the fair is looking at all the displays and creative ideas. It is amazing what people come up with!

It totally gets me ready for fall!

This is the signature pumpkin tower that is there every year. I was lucky to spend the day with my sister, niece, and wonderfully patient husband.

Again, I hear the 17 day diet calling my name.

If you ever have the chance to go you should!

Wedding Shower

A few weeks ago I decorated for my Love's cousins wedding shower. It was fun pulling all my stuff out of the closet and trying to decide what to use.

Sorry the pictures are a little blurry...It looked a lot better in person.

I hope to have time to share some pics from the Country Living Fair!
Although I didn't take that many because I was so busy shopping!

Another thing...my wonderful husband has to go to the oral surgeon on Friday to have his wisdom teeth removed. The bad thing is he HATES the dentist more than anything so please pray that his nerves are calm and he is not anxious!!

Summer Pics

I thought I would share some pictures of our home that I took throughout the summer.
When it wasn't 100 degrees out it was really nice and pleasant.

The cattails overtook the pond this year.

The sunflowers were huge! Almost 12 foot tall!

Lucy and Ethel follow me everywhere!

On one of the cooler evenings in August we enjoyed smores by the fire!!

Isn't my husband a hunk!

We spent a weekend in the Smokies with some friends. I really need to go on a diet. This is why I hate pictures...they remind me of how much I love to eat!

This sign is waiting to be hung in the office! It will look great on the big blank wall!

Until next time....

Lunch Today

I am home all day today which I love!
Most days I have to run somewhere at some point during the day. I am so thankful that I am able to stay home and do all the things I love to do!

I wanted to share this sandwich that I ate for lunch today and yesterday. Its very yummy!
Its very simple...Toasted bagel, cream cheese, turkey, and lettuce.

I think the only thing to make it better is avocado and bacon!
I added some carrot and celery sticks with my homemade dill dip which you can find under the
 Farm Kitchen page.

Just in case you were wondering what I was having for lunch....

Summers End

Hello all, its been a while.
I have been in kind of a blog funk lately.
I haven't had anything fun or interesting or even cute to blog about. We have been busy with life. Good busy. Work busy. Last bits of garden busy.
I haven't been sewing much and I can't really say what all we have been doing. I hate that...
Anyways, I am ready for fall.
Ready for cooler weather, soups, bon fires, jeans and sweatshirts, cozy blankets, hot cider and apples!
I am so glad that God created the seasons. He knows us so well!
He knows that we get tired and need the rest that fall and winter bring.
Rest from heat, long days of work, taking care of gardens, mowing grass and just the everyday things of summer.
He also knows that when winter sets in I will be wishing for summer and hot days all over again.
It's a vicious cycle!
I am so thankful He doesn't get tired of our whining...at least He forgives us for it. Over and over again.
I have lots of things going through my mind these days. Crafts, sewing, decorating, gifts, hosting, lots of things. Good things. Fall things.
I am hopeful that I will soon get back in the swing of blogging and picture taking.

I love this garage sale find. I am not tired of those yet. Garage sales that is.

On a happier note, next week I am going to the Country Living Fair!!! I LOVE it!! I might have mentioned it before but it is almost my favorite day of the year!!! It's a tie with Christmas and my Birthday. Except for this year I turn 30 so the Birthday is at the bottom of favorite days....

Also I had someone comment that my spelling errors were starting to bother them. To be honest, which I always am, I really don't care. If spell check doesn't catch it then I have to rely on my own not so accurate knowledge and not so accurate typing. Sorry.
