Easy Organization

This is what our desk has looked like for most of the summer!

 

 

Do to the business my husband has been doing lately, we have had a lot of blueprints laying around!

So I went out to the barn to see what I could find to help with corralling the mess!

I tend to have lots of random things in the barn that I collect at sales and such.

 

 

I found this large crock and it works great!!

 



Office Update

I am slowly getting our office put together. We  Steve hung the TV in the office finally, that has been our intention from the beginning. It turned out really great.

We Steve also hung some pictures for me. These are old calander pictures that I have had since I was in high school. I have saved them just for a room like this.

It is slowly coming together!

 

Spring Mantel and Office Lights

This is the mantel in the living room or at least part of the mantel.

Its hard to tell but I have a large mirror in the back and then this picture I got from grandma, which I love. An ironstone platter that is waiting to be hung in the bathroom and some tulips from my backyard. I love the spring flowers! Last year there were only two of these tulips that came up and this year there were about 12! I was so excited but then we were suppose to get frost so I cut some of them. The frost never came...

This is a light that is hanging in the office. I wanted barn type lighting in there but once again everything I liked was really expensive and since I'm a tightwad I  had to find something else.

Back to our favorite Lowe's! This is an outdoor light that was galvanized and we painted it black!

It hangs next to the door when you walk in. This gives you a glimpse of the siding wall in the office.

This light hangs from the beam that goes across the office. My Love's cousin took it out of there house and so we took it. The top of the light was brass and the bowl part was mauve. We, rather my Love, just spray painted it and it looks great!!

Office Remodel

If you have been  reading this blog for a while you know about the room that we have been working on for like three years that will eventually be the office... It has been re-framed, insulated, dry-walled, painted, and as of last night the windows are trimmed out! I'm so excited!! They look amazing! My lover and my FIL worked on it last night and will be working on it again today. My goal is to have it move in ready by next Saturday the 12th because we are having my dad a 60th Birthday Party and I want it ready to show off.

So this is what the mud room looks like...

You can barely get in the door!! 

This is the wood floor that will be going in the office. My love is such a scavenger!! About 8 years ago he and his dad built a house for a guy who owns a flooring company. The guy put top grade walnut floors in the house but he didn't want any of the knots showing in his floor so they cut all of them out. They were going to throw away the rest of the floor so my love took it home where it has been waiting to be put to good use! 

The only problem was that it was in the top of his dads garage and it was all in a bunch of pieces. It was no longer bundled so we had to carry it down in stacks! Wew! did I get my exercise! But it was free!!!
